Lee Behnken, Music Evanglist, releases Chpaters 1 & 2 Song of Solomon series

BROOKVILLE, OH–Evangelist and singer-songwriter Lee Behnken has completed Chapters One and Two of his journey into the “Song Of All Songs.” The culmination of years of prayer and meditation, his work follows the Song of Solomon, and the listener is invited to incorporate the recordings into their own deepening relationship with the text of the biblical love song from God to His People. Lee plans to record the entire work, ultimately comprising 8 discs. The recording of Chapter Three is planned for this year.

The song commentaries are written in a manner that supports prayerful reading and consideration of the texts. The song refrains establish a clear pattern of melody and text, which would support the focus on a passage, rather than leading the listener prematurely to new thoughts. The musical styling of the pieces ranges from acoustic to one enhanced with synthesized support and instrumental obbligato, the ‘cello lines adding an especially soulful note. The violin in Chapter Two adds a soaring presence. The artwork on the disc sleeve incorporates the elements of the text within. Of special note is the presence of the sofa on each cover. This element invites the seeker to truly relax and open to the message of the song.

Chapter One of “Song of All Songs” introduces God’s love for us as that of the “Bridegroom King.” The texts that follow help establish the intimate nature of God’s love, and guide us to respond to that intimacy. Chapter One ends with “You Are Mine.” This text actually blends with the first four songs of Chapter Two to comprise a five-song set, leading the seeker to relate the text to our relationship with Jesus Christ. The journey in Chapter Two travels from “The One That You Love” to “Until The Day Breaks.” The text expresses awakening, intimacy, fear, trust, fragility and tender new beginnings.
